About

I am Chris Price.  I am a bit of a history nut, as the very fact that I have this web page/blog set up to talk about history.  As you might have guessed, one of my historical interests is the history of American Christianity, although that is not my only interest.  I also have an interest in labor history, which is quite interesting in and of itself.

I am currently pursuing my love of history as a glutton for punishment...I mean, a doctoral student.  I just finished my pursuit of a Doctor of Arts degree at the University of North Dakota and am scheduled to start a job teaching in western Kansas.  I grew up in West Virginia, the Mountain State.  The area of North Dakota that I now live in could be called the Not Mountain State.  I moved here with my wife and kids to pursue my dream.  Most people think about cold weather when they think about North Dakota.  They are right, but we like the state nonetheless (with the exception of my being able to see ice crystal in my beard from about November-March).

I earned a BA in history and government from West Virginia Tech and an MA in history from Marshall University.  I also did some graduate work through Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.  I am about 1/3 of the way toward the completion of my latest degree, and hope to finish in the spring of 2013.  After that, I'd like to teach...maybe even overseas if it opens up.  My most research deals with Baptists in the city of Grand Forks, North Dakota, during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.  I hope you enjoy the site.
