About

I am Chris Price.  I am a bit of a history nut, as the very fact that I have this web page/blog set up to talk about history.  As you might have guessed, one of my historical interests is the history of American Christianity, although that is not my only interest. I've published articles related to American religious history and American political history. Additionally, I've developed a recent interest in the history of disease, specifically the Spanish flu.

I grew up in West Virginia, the Mountain State, but I moved to North Dakota to pursue my dream of earning a doctoral degree. In 2013, I finished the doctoral program at the University of North Dakota, and I received an offer to teach at a small community college in Colby, Kansas, about a month before graduation. After several years in northwest Kansas, I moved back home to West Virginia to take a new teaching job that was only about an hour from where I grew up.

I earned a BA in history and government from West Virginia Tech and an MA in history from Marshall University. I finished a Doctor of Arts in history in May 2013. With some COVID stimulus money, I decided to finish the final 12 hours of a Master of Arts in Theological Studies in the spring of 2021. With all of the graduate work I'd done, along with some prerequisites that tied into my MTS, I finished a Th.M. with a concentration in church history from Liberty University in December 2022. Am I done with education? Maybe, maybe not. I can say this, I love to read and research.
